“Kinnick Stadium”
Iowa City, Iowa
The beautiful University of Iowa Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City is the gathering place for over 70,000 of Iowa’s finest fans every fall. Kinnick Stadium was built in 1929, replacing Iowa Field which was on the east side of the Iowa River just west of the Main Library. Major reconstructions have included the new Paul W. Brechler Press Box in 2006 and new end zone updates in 2013 and 2019. In 2021 the field was named Duke Slater Field after one of the University of Iowa’s greatest players (1918-1921).
